💥Jeon Jong-seo & Han So-hee: The Untold Story Behind Their Electrifying ‘Project Y’ Chemistry!🎬

When two powerhouses like Jeon Jong-seo and Han So-hee converge on screen, it’s not just a film; it’s an event. And ‘Project Y’ promises to be precisely that, sparking immediate buzz with its audacious premise and the magnetic draw of its leading ladies. We dive deep into the heart of what drew Jeon Jong-seo to this groundbreaking thriller, straight from her recent interview.

For Jeon Jong-seo, the decision to jump into ‘Project Y’ was instantaneous, sparked by a single, powerful logline: “Two women of the same age, pushed to the brink of life, lay hands on black money.” She recounted feeling an “unusual sense of courage” upon reading it. The initial, incomplete script itself proved irresistible, compelling her to read it non-stop, leaving her with the distinct impression that “it would be fun to do.”

Her conviction was further solidified by Director Lee Hwan‘s distinctive style. “Director Lee Hwan’s unique writing and raw dialogue were very impressive,” Jeon Jong-seo noted. Interestingly, this script landed in her hands at the same time as Han So-hee. “I thought, ‘If we do this together now, maybe we can create something incredible.’ Looking back, it feels like a truly strange courage,” she shared with a laugh, hinting at the electric synergy they both sensed early on.

Set to be 2026’s first female buddy film and a two-top feature for actresses of the same age, ‘Project Y’ aims for impact far beyond its narrative. Jeon Jong-seo expressed her desire for the film to be visually striking:

  • 👗 “I wanted it to be a film where the impression instantly hits you, just by looking at the clothes, the fashion, or even a single poster.”
  • 🤔 The core focus was on igniting curiosity: “What exactly happens when these two women appear?”

Her character, Do-kyung, was crafted with this audacious vision in mind. Jeon Jong-seo described Do-kyung as a figure of “unrestrained freedom and youthful ambition.” She felt Director Lee Hwan wanted to portray her character boldly, even if such themes are often handled more conservatively in commercial cinema. “I felt that he wanted this to be the film’s weapon,” she added, emphasizing the director’s courageous approach.

Speaking of courage, the intense on-screen partnership with Han So-hee was a defining aspect of the production. Jeon Jong-seo aptly called their collaboration a “companionship.” The set environment was physically demanding and time-pressed, limiting opportunities for deep discussions about their performances. However, the film’s “chase-and-be-chased” structure meant they were constantly moving together, fostering a unique bond. Their connection wasn’t just forged on set; interestingly, Han So-hee had reached out to Jeon Jong-seo via SNS even before the film offer, hinting at an already established rapport. Jeon Jong-seo affectionately described Han So-hee as “down-to-earth and modest, yet simultaneously honest and bold.”

The highly anticipated meeting of these two iconic actresses has naturally garnered immense public interest, sometimes even “overheated” attention. Jeon Jong-seo views this positively, embracing it as a sign of significant public engagement. She articulated, “It means there’s a lot of interest. However, I feel it’s crucial that this interest now translates well into the film itself, for which we struggled intensely.”

The title ‘Project Y’ itself is open to diverse interpretations, with Director Lee Hwan previously inviting audiences to find their own ‘Y’ – be it ‘Young’ or ‘Youth.’ For Jeon Jong-seo, the word that resonated most was ‘Youth.’ Reflecting on the experience, she shared Han So-hee‘s poignant description of the project as “seasonal fate” (시절인연). “That phrase still stays with me,” Jeon Jong-seo concluded, “Because it was filmed around that time, it will probably remain in my memory for a long time.”

The on-screen synergy of Jeon Jong-seo and Han So-hee is undeniable, promising a dynamic and raw performance that elevates ‘Project Y’ beyond a typical thriller. We anticipate a truly electrifying watch where their individual talents ignite something spectacular together.

As ‘Project Y’ gears up for its release, the anticipation for this groundbreaking cinematic ‘companionship’ continues to soar.
