TWS’s Billion-Won Breakthrough: K-Pop Rookies Conquer Japan’s Oricon with Staggering ₩10B Revenue! 🚀🇯🇵💰

In a remarkable display of global market penetration, K-Pop sensation TWS has achieved an astounding 10 billion Korean Won in revenue from Japan, solidifying their position as a formidable force in the competitive J-Pop landscape just one year after their debut. This unprecedented financial success underscores a strategic triumph for the burgeoning group and offers critical insights into the evolving dynamics of the global music industry.

As announced by Pledis Entertainment on January 16, 2026, TWS, comprising members ShinYu, Dohoon, Youngjae, Hanjin, Jihoon, and Kyungmin, soared to the 2nd position on Oricon’s annual ‘New Artist Ranking’ for 2025. This achievement is particularly noteworthy as it represents the highest ranking for any overseas artist, signaling a significant shift in market influence. The ‘New Artist Ranking’ comprehensively aggregates sales figures from singles, albums, streaming, and music DVDs, painting a complete picture of an artist’s market impact.

According to Oricon, TWS generated approximately 10.7 billion Japanese Yen (equivalent to about 100 billion Korean Won) during the reporting period from December 9, 2024, to December 7, 2025. This colossal figure highlights the group’s rapid ascent and their ability to capture a substantial share of the lucrative Japanese music market.

The foundation of this success was laid with their Japanese debut single, “Nice to see you again” (originally “はじめまして/Hajimemashite”), released in July of the previous year. The single made an immediate splash, dominating multiple weekly charts on both Oricon and Billboard Japan in its first week. Its commercial triumph was further cemented by surpassing 250,000 cumulative shipments, earning a prestigious ‘Platinum‘ certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan.

Beyond chart-topping singles, TWS quickly translated their digital popularity into electrifying live performances. Their inaugural Japanese tour, “2025 TWS TOUR ’24/7:WITH:US’ IN JAPAN,” saw them perform 13 shows across 6 cities, drawing an impressive total of approximately 50,000 concertgoers. The demand was so overwhelming that most shows were completely sold out, necessitating the release of additional restricted-view seating to accommodate eager fans. This strong engagement on the ground is a testament to their burgeoning fan base and robust tour management.

The group’s footprint extends beyond their own tours, as TWS captivated audiences at Japan’s most prominent music festivals and television specials:

  • 🎤 ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL 2025
  • 🎇 COUNTDOWN JAPAN 25/26
  • 📺 Fuji TV’s year-end special, the 2025 FNS Kayo Festival

These high-profile appearances further solidified their presence and showcased their powerful performances to a wider audience.

Meanwhile, TWS‘s momentum in Japan is mirroring their expanding global influence. As of January 15, 2026, data from YouTube Music revealed that the group had surpassed 100 million monthly viewers. This metric, representing the total number of unique users worldwide who have viewed or listened to TWS content over the past 28 days, places them among the elite tier of K-Pop boy groups globally. This extensive digital reach underscores their universal appeal and promises continued growth in diverse international markets.

The scale of TWS’s Japanese market penetration in just one year is a masterclass in global brand building, converting nascent popularity into significant commercial success. Their multifaceted approach, blending chart dominance with high-impact live performances and strategic media placements, sets a robust precedent for future K-Pop acts aiming for international expansion.

The collective success of TWS in Japan and their escalating global viewership points to a carefully executed strategy that is clearly paying dividends, marking them as one of K-Pop’s most exciting and financially potent new acts.
