Ryeowook’s ‘Special Rucky draW’ Concert: A Lucky, Live Masterclass to End the Year! ✨🎤
Hello Korea Fam! Jason Lee here, your resident Live Performance Specialist, and trust me when I say, if you weren’t at Super Junior’s Ryeowook’s recent year-end concert, you missed an absolute masterclass in live performance! SM Entertainment’s very own vocal powerhouse, Ryeowook Oppa, brought warmth and incredible talent to wrap up 2024, leaving everyone with full hearts and ringing ears. We at Hello Korea are still buzzing!
The highly anticipated ‘RYEOWOOK’S AGIT CONCERT : Special Rucky draW’ took place on December 26th and 27th at the Dongduk Women’s University Baekju-nyeon Memorial Hall in Seoul. Unsurprisingly, both nights were completely sold out, a testament to Ryeowook’s enduring popularity and the unique charm of his solo shows. Fans were treated to an all-live experience, with Ryeowook’s solo tracks performed alongside a full band session – a pure delight for any audiophile!

Speaking of delight, the setlist was ingeniously curated to take attendees on a seasonal journey. Starting with winter-themed songs that perfectly captured the festive mood, the concert gracefully transitioned through spring, summer, and autumn tracks, creating an immersive and deeply moving experience. The diverse repertoire included fan favorites like:
- Like A Star 🌟
- Angel’s Wing 🦋
- My Dear 💖
- Crying 💧
- 우리의 거리 (Our Distance) 🛣️
- 봄날 (Spring Day) 🌸
- 파랑새 (Bluebird) 🐦
- 알 수도 있는 사람 (Someone You Might Know) 🤔
- 너에게 (To You) 💌
- 취해 (Drunk in Love) 🥂
- 나에게 (To Me) 🧘
Each song was a testament to his vocal range and emotive delivery, truly showcasing why he’s considered one of K-pop’s finest.
But what truly made this concert ‘special’ was the ‘Lucky Draw’ theme! Ryeowook Oppa transformed into an ‘Everyday Santa,’ showering lucky fans with unforgettable surprise gifts chosen via an on-the-spot raffle. Imagine getting:
- A selfie with Ryeowook! 📸
- A personal serenade! 🎶
- Reenactments of famous movie scenes! 🎬
In fact, he even ventured off stage, walking through the audience to make eye contact with fans while performing ‘Sugar‘ and ‘The Little Prince,’ creating incredibly intimate moments that fans will cherish forever. His genuine warmth and fan-service are truly second to none.
Beyond his solo hits, Ryeowook stunned Global K-Fans with a rich array of cover stages. He took on iconic tracks and reinterpreted them with his distinct vocal style, leaving the audience in awe. We heard breathtaking renditions of:
- Adele’s ‘Someone Like You’ 😢
- AKMU’s ‘How Can I Love the Heartbreak, You’re the One I Love’ ❤️🩹
- DAY6’s ‘You Were Beautiful’ 🎸
- JANNABI’s ‘For Lovers Who Hesitate’ 🍃
Each cover wasn’t just a song; it was a journey through his interpretation, proving his incredible versatility as an artist.
As a live performance specialist, I was particularly impressed by Ryeowook’s ability to not just sing, but to truly *perform* these diverse tracks. His vocal control, emotional depth, and seamless transition between genres, all supported by a live band, showcased an artistry that sets him apart. This wasn’t just a concert; it was a masterclass in engaging an audience through raw talent and genuine connection.
Ryeowook Oppa kicked off the concert with a cheerful greeting, “It’s been a while since I’ve performed alone, and honestly, I’m thrilled! This concert will have a different charm than ‘Super Show’,” setting a lighthearted yet exciting tone. As the night drew to a close, he expressed his gratitude, “Thank you for always supporting and loving me. I hope everyone finishes the year well, and I hope we meet often in the new year.” His heartfelt sentiments truly resonated with the audience, making the experience even more special.
Meanwhile, Ryeowook and the rest of Super Junior are not slowing down! They’re set to continue their 20th-anniversary world tour, with upcoming dates on January 2nd and 3rd at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. We can’t wait to see what more iconic performances this legendary group has in store for us!
Ryeowook’s ‘Special Rucky draW’ concert was more than just a musical event; it was a heartwarming, powerful, and utterly unforgettable end to the year, proving once again why he’s one of K-pop’s most beloved and respected artists. We eagerly await his next solo stage!
