ILLIT Takes Over Global Stages (and Screens!): ‘NOT CUTE ANYMORE’ Nears 600M YouTube Music Views! 🎤🌟

The stage isn’t the only place K-pop acts are commanding attention. Rising sensation ILLIT is proving their captivating power extends far beyond live venues, racking up an astonishing 583 million monthly viewers on YouTube Music as of January 15. This isn’t just a number; it’s a global phenomenon underscoring their undeniable impact on the world stage.

According to YouTube Music, this staggering figure isn’t merely impressive for a K-pop group; it places ILLIT shoulder-to-shoulder with global pop titans. To put it into perspective, their monthly viewership rivals that of legendary artist Shakira (617 million) and chart-topping sensation Tyla (637 million), both of whom have dominated Billboard’s main charts. The YouTube Music monthly viewer count represents the total number of unique users worldwide who have engaged with ILLIT‘s content or music within the past 28 days.

The monumental surge in viewership directly correlates with the release and subsequent activities surrounding their track, ‘NOT CUTE ANYMORE’. We witnessed their net monthly viewership skyrocket from approximately 80 million in November of last year to over 430 million in December, marking an astounding 438% increase as promotional activities for the track went into full swing. Remarkably, global interest has only intensified, with the group consistently hitting new peaks even after official promotions concluded.

A major catalyst for this explosive growth has been the immense popularity of short-form content. The catchy ‘Hood Grab Shot’ challenge, which spread like wildfire across global meme culture, prominently featured ‘NOT CUTE ANYMORE’. This viral moment led to a dramatic spike in audio usage, propelling the track to significant chart positions:

  • 🔥 US YouTube ‘Daily Shorts Popular Songs’: #2 (as of December 22)
  • 🌍 Global YouTube ‘Daily Shorts Popular Songs’: #5 (as of December 27)
  • 🇪🇺 Top placements across European charts, including the UK, Germany, and France.

Speaking of momentum, ILLIT‘s recent return to domestic music show stages further amplified their track’s performance. Following these appearances, ‘NOT CUTE ANYMORE’ soared to #14 on Melon’s ‘Top 100’ chart by January 11. Meanwhile, their consistent upward trajectory on the US Billboard ‘Bubbling Under Hot 100’ chart, climbing for three consecutive weeks, saw them clinch 7th place as of January 17, putting them tantalizingly close to a coveted spot on the main ‘Hot 100’ chart.

The sheer power of a compelling concept combined with engaging short-form content is undeniable. It showcases how a group’s unique charm, even when delivered digitally, can ignite a global performance trend.

As ILLIT continues its meteoric rise, Hello Korea will be here to cover every step of their journey.
