When it comes to global influence and community action, few forces can rival the collective power of the BTS ARMY. Each year, as member birthdays roll around, we at Hello Korea anticipate not just celebrations, but a remarkable outpouring of philanthropy that truly reflects the artists’ positive impact. This year, for BTS’s V’s birthday on December 30th, his global fanbase once again transformed celebration into an incredible relay of giving, touching lives across continents.

Inspired by V‘s own generous spirit, fans from myriad countries initiated heartfelt donation campaigns. Leading the charge, V Union, a global fanbase, and V INSIDE, a prominent Korean fanbase, continued their support for Big Issue Korea – a non-profit dedicated to assisting the homeless – marking their third consecutive year of participation in this vital cause. This consistent dedication underscores a deep commitment to social responsibility that resonates deeply within the fandom.

The philanthropic ripple extended far beyond Korea. Across the globe, various fanbases targeted a diverse array of crucial issues:

• 🇬🇧 V Union teamed up with UK fanbase KTH_UK to make a significant donation to Cancer Research UK, inspired by Taehyung’s warm heart to support life-saving research.
• 🇪🇸 In Spain, BTS V Spain contributed for the second time to HOGAR SÍ, an organization that provides essential housing, health, employment, and social welfare services to over 37,000 homeless individuals across the nation.
• 🇯🇵 Japan’s TAETAE VOTING JP, moved by V‘s regular patronage of Save the Children, made a donation to the international children’s charity, echoing his consistent efforts.

The impact in Southeast Asia was particularly heartwarming. In Thailand, fanbases BTSV_TH, OurbelovedV, and VotingforVTH collectively donated 500 blankets to the Rakthai Foundation for children in Chiang Mai. Meanwhile, Nepal’s KTH Nepal provided uniform sweaters to 93 middle school students in the mountainous Nuwakot region and distributed 100 sets of groceries (including rice, water, and snacks) to underprivileged communities.

The Philippines saw V’s Angels conducting extensive volunteer activities and distributing gifts to children in Zambales and Las Piñas. They further extended their generosity with donations to the Salvation Army Church, the Philippine Red Cross to aid flood victims, and a local animal shelter to support animal welfare projects.

• 🇱🇰 KTH Sri Lanka continued its support for the Little Hearts Foundation, a child protection charity, marking their third consecutive year of donations to help save young lives.
• 🇲🇲 BTS V Myanmar shared warmth by delivering essential groceries like rice, cooking oil, and eggs to 200 struggling households in their community.

Further west, Team INDIA contributed to the Indian Cancer Society (ICS) to support pediatric cancer patients unable to afford treatment. Vante Blogs from Türkiye donated to UNICEF’s emergency relief fund for children, ensuring vital aid reaches those most vulnerable. In the Arab world, THV MENA facilitated water tank installation and supply support in Yemen and Somalia, and provided food for 100 neighbors in need in Sudan – addressing critical humanitarian issues.

Interestingly, V‘s love for animals and nature also inspired environmental conservation efforts. US fanbase thvgirlsgive supported the rescue activities for seals and sea lions at California’s Pacific Marine Mammal Center. Taehyung Indonesia participated in a crucial coral reef planting project on Jakarta’s Pramuka Island, contributing significantly to marine ecosystem restoration. Finally, fan VisMyWinterKing, moved by V‘s affection for animals, made a donation to the SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals), embodying a truly holistic approach to giving.
